Duncan has been playing in bands since the year 2001 and has had the pleasure of working with many different musicians. His first ever band project was called ‘Hungry and Homeless’ a comic rock band for a one off gig when he was studying at Colchester Institute. Duncan was the lead vocalist and guitarist. A year later he played with ‘One Night Stand’ playing alongside the amazing Swedish Jazz guitarist Johan Johansson and talented Chelmsford vocalist Amanda Davis. Around the time he also played rhythm guitar for various cover bands, performing at Colchester Arts Centre and private functions.

In 2004 Duncan Moved to Brighton to study at the Brighton Institute of Modern Music where he could develop his electric guitar skills and study all style, techniques and theory with a special focus on band playing. His first band project in Brighton was in the form of Rusty China Doll, a 5 piece original Funk/Rock band. The band played at the Concorde 2, one of Brighton’s legendary venues, and played at many different gig nights throughout Essex, London & the South-East.

Duncan played in the 5 piece Funk/soul covers band Cirque de Soul who delighted audiences with their upbeat classics at many functions and events. He also played in various other original projects including Go Ballista, an original Indie/Post punk/Rock band with the legendary vocalist and songwriter Henry Marsh. Duncan also worked as a session player, recording and performing for different songwriters and producers.

In 2007 Duncan joined the original 8 piece original Funk/pop band The Grand Majestic. Combining the thrill of feel-good power pop with the swagger of funk, they entertained packed venues throughout the country. Gigs credits include playing at London’s legendary Lovebox Music Festival, supporting the Brand New Heavies, acid jazz and funk pioneers for 20 years and Californian Funk legends Breakestra on the Brighton leg of their UK tour.

In 2011 Duncan played guitar in the 5 piece Rock/Glam/Indie band Ry Byron. They played at some amazing events, most notably playing twice inside the world famous venue the O2 arena as part of the December Sessions, a unique entertainment experience showcasing up & coming bands & artists. They played on the same nights as Sir Paul Mccartney and Rihanna.
