Live Acoustic Guitar at Goodnestone Park House – Sophie & Jonathan’s Wedding
On Saturday 3rd May, I had the pleasure of performing solo acoustic guitar at the wedding of Sophie & Jonathan at the beautiful Goodnestone Park House in Kent. It was an elegant and heartfelt day, and I was honoured to provide live instrumental music for both the ceremony and the drinks reception.
Intimate Ceremony Inside the House
The ceremony took place inside the house in one of its characterful and light-filled rooms, surrounded by close family and friends. Sophie arranged a beautiful surprise for Jonathan by walking in to his favourite song, Beneath Your Beautiful—a moment that clearly meant a lot to him.
During the signing of the register, I played instrumental arrangements of California Dreaming and Blackbird, followed by Close to You for the recessional. These choices perfectly matched the laid-back, romantic atmosphere the couple had envisioned.
Garden Drinks Reception with a Confetti Tunnel
The rest of the guests joined shortly after for the drinks reception, held outside on the lawn. Around 20 minutes in, Sophie and Jonathan made their entrance through a confetti tunnel—an amazing moment—and I performed Signed, Sealed, Delivered as they emerged to cheers and applause.
From there, I played a relaxed set of acoustic instrumental covers while guests enjoyed drinks, chatted, and soaked up the garden surroundings. It was a wonderful setting to play in, and the music added to the celebratory atmosphere without being intrusive.
